Manifestation vs. The Future

Posted by myrlia, Sun May 18 23:24:00 UTC 2008

Do you wonder sometimes what you are manifesting, and what you are just foreseeing? Both skills have a ‘feeling’ to them that tell you they are real. But if you see a cat running across a road, and you ‘feel’ that it is going to be hit by a car, how can you tell if you are creating it or if you are just seeing it happen, seconds before it does?

Sometimes I get the feeling that something is going to happen, such as my husband is going to cut himself while chopping veg, and am able to avert the situation by giving a warning. Often, if I don’t say anything he is holding his hand under the tap several seconds later. (I do think that I sometimes give “Mommy warnings”, though – These are the seemingly unending warnings about the dangers mommies see everywhere.)

The good thing is, if I don’t sense any danger, things tend to flow smoothly.

I didn’t realize how much I tend to rely on this sense, until recently when one of my daughter’s toys broke. She had mentioned this toy out of the blue during the afternoon, and that evening it was bumped, fell off the table and broke. Aside from being crushed that one of her cherished toys had broken, I was truly distressed that I hadn’t picked up on any hints that it was going to happen.

Still, how can one tell if the ‘feeling’ is coming from premonition, or manifestation? Or does it even matter?

Here is something to try when you do sense an oncoming disaster: Instantly ‘create’ a positive situation when you sense a negative one coming. Just mentally erase the unwanted scenario, and replace it with your desired outcome. Of course, the key here is to stay completely calm and centered. If panic sets in, it is nearly impossible manage much of anything useful!

Manifestation - The Power Tool of the Universe

Posted by myrlia, Mon May 12 23:40:00 UTC 2008

Manifestation. An amazing power? Yes, it can be. It can be an extremely useful tool, assuming it is used correctly. The trick, really, is using it correctly.

I used to do a meditation to help me with manifestation (I’ll cover this in another post), until I realized I could manifest things like a restaurant serving my favorite type of food without too much thought. Larger “wishes” still require some work, but the key thing I learned is that you have to truly, deeply ‘feel’ what it is that you are manifesting. Not ‘want’, but ‘feel’.

This is where the trouble comes in.

Say you are driving down the street, and you ‘feel’ that the light is about to change, and it does. You hear someone coughing, and you ‘feel’ that you are going to get sick, so you do. And it gets worse.

My three-year-old is very willful, and though I try my best to keep her safe, the brave little soul just has to reach out and explore the world around her. Sometimes, however, she goes too far. At those times, I tell her what is likely to happen, but she ignores me, and sure enough, my warning comes true.

Such as one day, when pushing our newborn baby in her buggy, my tiny-terror ran ahead to the subway escalators trying to catch up with her best friend. I called to her to wait for me, but she didn’t. As I was just about to reach her, I warned her not to go on the escalators (a very steep, long set) without me, or she was likely to fall down. I was really frustrated with her disobedience, and wanted her to understand the danger. Then, without consciously trying, I ‘felt’ it. Within seconds she had tumbled down two stairs. She was okay, but scared, as we all were.

I realized, as we were traveling down the second set of escalators (with my daughter right next to me holding the handle of the buggy), that I had manifested that situation, and many more like it, without trying, and without wanting to.

I understand now why we are not all born with the ability to manifest. The act of manifesting is something to be carefully learned and used, much like the use of power tools. While much can be achieved and gained, if you are not truly aware of your thoughts and actions, you can create some enormous problems.
